Walmart Inc. will start offering prepared meals in its shops for the very first time, a move which may assist the nation’s biggest grocer sell more food while siphoning customers from supermarket chains.
Ten unique meals are now available in 250 shops, and the application will extend to 2,000 locations by year’s end, Walmart executives stated in an interview. The company also is presenting four 15 meal-kit choices in shops, developing a business which had previously only been offered online through external vendors.
