Tencent led an $818 million investment in Chehaoduo, an online platform for buying and selling automobiles in China. The business has $1.7 billion in financing thus far, based on Crunchbase. Earlier investors comprised U.S. venture firms active in China, such as Sequoia, Matrix and Blue Run Ventures. China is the world’s biggest market for new and used car sales today, based on study in IHS Markit.
