Walmart Inc. will begin offering prepared meals in its shops for the very first time, a move that may help the country’s biggest grocer market more food while siphoning customers from grocery store chains.
Ten unique meals are at present available in 250 shops, and the application will extend to 2,000 locations by year’s end, Walmart executives stated in an interview. The business also is presenting four 15 meal-kit choices in shops, expanding a business that had previously just been offered online through external vendors.
