Amazon is charging more for sellers to Market Enormous discounts on Prime Day

Amazon has turned into Prime Day into one of the greatest online shopping vacations. However, for many vendors, it’s getting more expensive to take part.

For the second year in a row, Amazon has increased the registration fee to operate Prime Day Lightning Deals, which are limited-time promotions only available to Prime members. It now costs third-party retailers $750 to operate each Lightning Dealup from $500 last year, according to an invitation which was sent to vendors and seen by CNBC. Amazon first introduced the charge for Prime Day this past year, after not charging anything in 2015 and 2016.
