Amazon neglected to secure enough servers to manage the traffic spike on Prime Day, causing it to launch a scaled-down backup front page and briefly kill off all international visitors, according to internal Amazon files acquired by CNBC.
And that all took place within 15 minutes from the start of Prime Day — one of Amazon’s biggest revenue days each year.
