Amazon Provides more Whole Foods discounts for Prime Associates, report States

(GeekWire photograph) More Whole Foods reductions are arriving to Amazon Prime members. CNBC reported this week that Amazon is set to roll out a 10 percent price reduction on already-discounted Whole Foods merchandise. It’s the most recent integration between Amazon’s Prime membership plan and Whole Foods, following Amazon’s $13.7 billion acquisition of the Austin, Texas-based grocer this past calendar year. Amazon at February rolled free of 2-hour delivery in Whole Foods for both Prime members. Back in November, Amazon offered   reductions to Prime associates  on holiday things and did the same for Valentine’s Day blossoms in February. (GeekWire photograph) On a call with reporters following the provider’s earnings report last week, Amazon CFO Brian Olsavsky hinted at added Whole Foods benefits for Prime members. “We are continuing to perform the work to create Prime that the Whole Foods rewards program, also offering more benefits to Prime members,” he explained. Last month, Whole Foods delivered an email to clients notifying them that it’ll retire its many  rewards programs   and online accounts Might 2. Amazon already discounted   different in-store Whole Foods things  like salmon, apples, avocados, and much more when the acquisition closed this past year. It also   added hundreds of Whole Foods things to AmazonFresh, its grocery delivery service that started more than just a decade ago, following the deal. There is also now a Whole Foods online storefront on Amazon’s website. Soon after, Amazon devices like the Echo and Fire TV started showing up in shops. Amazon opened pop-up shops  this past holiday period at Whole Foods locations with opportunities for clients to try out devices and find out more about Prime. Additionally, it plans to put in Amazon Lockers in Whole Foods locations. Amazon last week declared it increases the annual Prime membership cost from $99 to $119.   The company last month demonstrated its Prime membership numbers   for the first time, reporting more than 100 million readers that get totally free 2-day delivery, cloud storage, streaming video/music, and much more benefits. For its first quarter of the calendar year, Amazon introduced $4.3 billion in revenue from its physical stores class, the majority of which is composed of Whole Foods earnings.
