Secondly Amazon Go store opens in Seattle with Additional Advancement on the horizon

The second Amazon Go Place opened Monday morning in Seattle in the corner of Fifth Avenue and Marion Street.

(GeekWire Photo / Nat Levy) Amazon has opened the second location of its checkout-less supermarket theory Amazon Move in Seattle. The shop, first detected by GeekWire a month, is situated in the base of the Madison Centre office tower in the corner of Fifth Avenue and Marion Street. In this location, the company said, is 1,450 square feet and contains pre-prepared meals from Amazon hamburgers and other local companies, in addition to meal snacks and kits. The first Amazon Go shop surfaced one mile away in the base of Amazon’s Day One tower January, after over a year of fine-tuning the notion by allowing just workers to store there. It seems Amazon has figured out how to replicate this tech as this location has not been subject to the exact rigorous worker testing and is currently open to the public. A client and worker inside the Amazon Go shop. Customers scan a special QR code inside the program before passing via a pair of glass doors, like the gates Amazon workers undergo when entering their workplace buildings every morning. A vast selection of overhead cameras and weight detectors in the shelves automatically track what people pick up and choose from the shop. When customers leave, they simply walk outside. Amazon Go’s systems automatically debit their account for the things they choose, sending the receipt into the program.  By logging shoppers in at the entry, then tracking their actions in the shop, the system removes the need for traditional checkout enrolls and checkout workers alongside them. Before this season, Recode noted that Amazon plans to open as many as six extra Amazon Go stores past the original Seattle location. Amazon Go attracted giant lines when it opened in Seattle earlier this season. The shop has a 4.5-star rating on Yelp, with customers raving about the concept. Amazon Go is part of a broader push by Amazon into bodily retail, such as its acquisition of Whole Foods, its Amazon Books stores, along with AmazonFresh Pickup places.
