Stocks rose on Tuesday since the S&P 500 moved closer to a record high set earlier this season, boosted by solid company earnings which counter worries around global trade.
The S&P 500 climbed 0.3 percent to 2,858.45 with energy and industrials outperforming. The Nasdaq Composite improved 0.3 percent to 7,883.66 since Amazon and Tesla climbed.
