Amazon Increases Some Workers’ Pay Therefore Its Bonus-Cutting Minimum-Wage Plan Will Not Reduce Their Wages

Amazon’s move to boost the minimum wage of its own directly employed and contracted workers to at least $15 an hour contributed to some workers calculating they’d make less with the elimination of bonuses and stock awards. The business said today it plans to correct wages and bonuses to guarantee those workers don’t get lower wages because of this.

Senator Bernie Sanders, significant of large companies paying low wages, commended Amazon’s first announcement, then contested the company after reports suggested some workers would have lower annual income.
